One of our favorite parts of camping at Boulder Beach Campground is the bike trails. I'll start with the Historic Railroad Trail. A 8 mile round trip walk or bike trail with a hard packed fine grained gravel surface. Beginning near the Boulder Visitor Center, the trail starts in a designated paved parking area and gradually ascends, winding through five tunnels that offer picturesque views of Lake Mead. It is truly breathtaking and concludes just before reaching Hoover Dam. One suggestion is to begin early since the trail is very popular and tends to get crowded. Pets are permitted but must be on a leash, and for safety reasons due to extreme heat, hiking or biking is not advised from April to October.

The River Mountain Loop Trail is a well-maintained, 8-foot-wide paved path. Spanning 33 miles, it offers picturesque desert views and various elevation changes. Numerous rest stops are available along the trail, featuring drinking water, restrooms, and benches for snacks and enjoying the scenery. The 33-mile loop starts directly from our campground at Boulder Beach, winds towards Henderson, Nevada, then loops back towards Boulder City, ultimately returning to our campground. There are several parking areas around the loop where you can begin your journey. According to a ranger at the visitor center, it's also a highly popular bike trail because Tour de France racers periodically train there. Personally we just put along enjoying the panorama. For safety reasons due to extreme heat, hiking or biking is not advised from April to October. They recommend always bringing plenty of water, even during the winter.

Next Bike trail to explore is Red Rock Canyon
