Final Bike Ride Before the Snowstorm

We needed to fit in one last bike ride before the first snowstorm hit. It was essential to enjoy the crisp air and the beautiful scenery one last time before winter took over. Before we left home we double checked the weather and 63 degrees for a high wasn't to bad. Butttt when we arrived at the trailhead some pesky clouds had moved in and the temperature decided to not warm up to a higher than 53 degrees. Burr! We Oregonian's are tuff so we set out anyway dressed in our best long johns, winter coats and hats.

Our destination was Benham Falls a 4.5 mile ride on a beautiful paved trail thru a dense Ponderosa forest. We mostly had the trail to ourselves, no doubt since we were the only crazy people riding bikes in a cold wind storm. Yet the view of the falls were absolutely stunning, enhanced by the autumn colors.

A paved path at the conclusion of the Sun Lava Trail connects to the Sun River trail system which is another fun bike ride we will review in the future, so stay tuned??

Amenities: Clean Restrooms at the beginning of the trail in the parking lot and at the Benham falls parking lot.

Milage Trail markers every 1 mile

Thanks for following us on our biking journeys Cheers Jeff and Liz
