Tumerico and La Chaiteria are Mexican inspired, comfort vegetarian-vegan, latin American restaurants with a conscious twist. Both have been recognized as the top vegan restaurants in the U.S. and have received a James Beard nomination.

The staff greets you warmly, and Chef Wendy, a James Beard nominee, even met us with big hugs and smiles. The team is incredibly helpful, guiding you through the menus with a nurturing, home-cooked feel.

Whether you're vegan or a carnivore, you won't want to miss Tumerico, as it truly shines with its creative and delicious menu. We are not Tucson locals as we reside in Bend, Oregon, but do spend our winters in Arizona. When we discovered Tumerico, about five years ago, we vowed to visit at least twice whenever we're in the Tucson area.

Our favorites has been the Ropa Vieja ($17.00), Mole enchiladas ($16.00) and the Barbacoa ($17.00). The meals are served All Powers meaning you get delicious rice, beans and a fresh salad with your entree. I always like to try something different but you can't go wrong; everything is amazing.

The menu changes daily, includes take out option, but no reservations.

Tumerico has a sister location called La Chaiteria which serves fish tacos, carnitas, carne asada ect. We have tried both locations and both are truly excellent.

Tumerico: located at 2526 E. 6th Street, Tucson, AZ - Phone: (520) 240-6947

La Chaiteria: located at 10002 West Congress St., Tucson, AZ - Phone (520)400-7127

*We have not been compensated for writing this blog post and are not affiliated with either restaurant but we are super happy customers.

Cheers!
